At Wild Child CC we have multi-age classes by design. We know through research and experience that not only do multi-age classrooms work, they work beautifully.
The only way to educate the whole child is having a mix of ages, supported by teachers that meet each student’s learning needs.
In addition, a play and experience-based environment allows children time, space, and support to build academic skills, emotional intelligence, and social skills.

Our Infant and Toddler Program elicits our love, devotion, and fascination because they are so cute and curious. Caregivers respond quietly, gently, and slowly to each child’s cues and initiations and respond to their needs and competencies. Children spend time indoors and outdoors exploring the world around them. The day is guided by their daily needs and curiosity.
These relationship-based experiences bloom naturally through one-on-one time when feeding, diapering, and dressing a child. Active participation naturally encourages rich language through experiences that directly relate to the child while fostering creative thinking, problem-solving, and independence.

In our Pre-K program, we share, learn, experiment, design, create, discuss, and play together! We value each child as an individual and work to provide an environment and experiences that encourage calculated risk, exploration, discovery and invention. Every experience provides an opportunity for children to identify and express their feelings, assert themselves, listen to others, negotiate and resolve conflicts.
Rather than a strict schedule we opt for a routine which we call the “Rhythm of the Day”. Our approach to having a daily rhythm allows for a predictable flow of each day while still providing the children with time and space to accommodate conversations and deep involvement in working and learning.

Upon arrival, the children find a multitude of activities ready and waiting to be explored. Because research supports the value of spending long periods of time participating in activities for authentic learning to occur, we allow the children to play (aka work) in the Indoor and Outdoor Classrooms for a large portion of our day.
After enjoying a long morning of play and enjoying a breakfast snack, Gathering Time is next. This is the time we come together as a large group to build community, celebrate birthdays, sing, read, and share new information.
Small Group is attended by each child once per week. During this time, the group participates in a teacher-led activity or exploration. The small group activity changes each week, and the experiences rotate through science, math, language, and art concepts.
After exploring their group activity and enjoying lunch, Rest Time is next. This is when children enjoy a calming moment to rest and relax. Children will be provided with a 2-hour window to rest and relax. Children who do not nap during this time will have a quiet, child-led activity.
Dismissal takes place in the Indoor Classroom. After their small group has finished, children return to the indoor classroom and play until their adult arrives to take them home.
